Flash cs4 bug. jpg optimizing (bitmap)
Posted on | February 10, 2009 | 5 Comments
Other CS4 BUG.
BUG APPEARS: when you trying to optimize bitmap in library (changing JPG compression level).
BUG RESULT: Errorous bitmap (disappearing , flickering, blinking,…) in final SWF file or in flash preview.
SOLUTION: Save (with optimized jpg), Close (FLA with bug), Re-Open FLA, Re-publish. Result must be OK.
If you see the same problem with other JPG try again (each time this bug appears do the same operations).

this is the solution? there has to be an easier way to fix this. i can’t be closing down my fla and reopen it after every time i optimize a bitmap.

I can’t find other solution yet. :(
I use Adobe Web Premium CS4 (original version, not beta, with latest updates)
Flash is unstable, photoshop – very slow (unstable comparing with CS3), one thing that I like is Media Encoder (but slow too)

same problem here, also some rare problems when classic tweens do not what you told them to do.
classic tweens often just tween not all attributes, like only size but no alpha, or only position and no scale… here again, save the file and reopen it helps.

I’ve found that using the File > Save and Compact command helps with this problem. It’s still an inconvenient workaround.
